i'm born in, but always had my little doubts about "the truth" since i was young, but went ahead and got baptized ect.... .
i stumbled upon this site while looking for a km and initially thought it was a jw forum, but after seeing some of the titles of various threads, i thought to myself "i'm on an apostate website".
I thought to myself "I'm on an apostate website". Honeslty, despite the warning we get from the WTBS to stay away...the curiosity got the better of me although I felt very uneasy/guilty for vewing an apostate site.

It helps to not think of Ex-Jws in such absolute terms. We are simply people who no longer believe that JWs possess "the truth". Once you discard the WTBS's stereotypes, and use of such inflammatory terms as 'apostate', the guilt and uneasiness will subside.

True, but it could still be a valuable resource in showing current JWs the level of false prophecy they have been guilty of. I wouldn't mind getting a hold of one for just that reason.
last year i purchased a corned beef package from trader joes.
i love corned beef but my husband didn't so i rarely cooked it for the family.
but trader joes was passing out samples last year, i couldn't resist and hubby decided he liked it but i'm only to buy the corned beef from trader joes.

Substitute thousand island dressing for mustard(ugh), and add swiss cheese, and there's nothing better on earth.
yes, i heard that talk where apparently (in my wife's circuit that is) there are 5 times as many pioneers over 50 or 60 than there are amongst the younger people.
there was also 3 or 4 times as many elders and ms's amongst the elderly than there are amongst young people.
the message, parents, friends, encourage your young ones to pursue an education and a career in the ministry.
It sounds like a talk that's been given a thousand times before.

What else do JWs have to grasp onto, especially older ones? My father is the same way. He's in his late 70's, and still expecting to see Armageddon in his lifetime. Holding on to this line of thinking is easier than admitting they've wasted their entire lives.

at no stage did i ever hear anyone mention any other god or religion in conversation or playground banter.
I'm sure they like to think that they are. But it's not even close to the Muslims. I would venture to guess there are more people that hate Catholics and Jews, as well. Certainly the anti-Catholic rhetoric in their own publications is as powerful as anything JWs may experience.
it may be just my imagination,but sometimes i think witnesses get overly excited when a natural disaster or some violent event happens.
i guess they feel it proves their point on how awful things are.. my mother seems to be this way.
she seemed elated to tell me about a couple shootings that took place in our city today.
Absolutely. They've slaved their lives away for one purpose, and so far it's been unfulfilled. So they cling to any disaster that comes along in the hopes that it's finally the prelude to Armageddon they've been waiting for. It's all they have.
